Waiheke Island has a variety of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars nestled in the bays and community areas.

Oneroa Village, the main village on Waiheke provides a range of stores from beach stores, through to antique and second-hand dealers, to large retail outlets. The industrial area of Waiheke can be found at Ostend with a large supermarket and hardware stores. Little delights such as art and craft studios and dairys can be found all over the island and throughout the island is a strong restaurant and cafe culture.

Bars, Clubs and Pubs on Waiheke Island

During the summer months, the nightlife on Waiheke comes alive with a friendly and festive atmosphere. There are a range of bars and pubs to visit on the island including Sand Bar and Island Queen in Oneroa, Waihetian in Surfdale, an Irish pub and sports bar in Ostend and DJ's are regular entertainment at Harbourside in Matiatia.
